Use these group/pair revision tips in preparation for your GCSEs
or A-Levels

Revision is all about variety. This diagram  shows us how we learn.

Reading your book will not make you retain much information at all. You need to mix it up.

Idea no.1

Snakes and Ladders.

Summarize topics by making a list of questions and answers. When you land on a number- answer the question.

Idea no.2

Pictionary.

sketch or illustrate a topic or idea. Get a friend to guess what it is.

Idea no.3

Revision pong.

Two teams, each team tries to throw the ball into the cups- each time the ball goes in to the cup you must answer the question in the cup.

Idea no.4

Charades.

two teams attempt to guess what religious teaching/practice their player is acting out.

Idea no.5

Snap.

Make some flash cards with key words and definitions, get a partner. When the key word and definition match- snap!

Idea no.6

Jenga.

Stick some questions on to Jenga blocks. Play the game, whichever block you pull out you have to answer the question.

Idea no.7

Quiz-quiz-trade.

Make cards with revision questions on. Find another student to quiz, if they get the question right you swap cards.

Idea no.8

Snowballing.

With a group write down topics you need to revise on paper. Scrunch up each bit of paper and throw it to someone else. They add their knowledge onto the paper, scrunches is up and throws it again.

Idea no.9

Question tennis.

With a partner, ask each other quick fire questions about a topic.

First one to stumble or not know loses.

Idea no.10

Guess who.

Make a list of different figures/topics.

Each student asks yes or no questions, to figure out the one your partner has chosen. Slowly you will eliminate options.

Idea no.11

Taboo.

Try to explain to your partner a topic, or key word without using that word.

Idea no.12

Speed dating.

Sit across from your partner and ask them a question about the topic. They then have 1 minute to share everything they know about it.
